Britten Violin Concerto
Tchaikovsky Symphony No 5

BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra
Martyn Brabbins Conductor
Anthony Marwood Violin

The rich acoustic of St Mary’s will resound with the Russian splendour of Glinka and Tchaikovsky in this concert conducted by Russian-trained Martyn Brabbins. Britten’s early violin concerto has its own powerfully dark-hued sound, here played by one of its most eloquent and brilliant exponents.

“The radiant intensity of Marwood’s playing had extraordinary emotional power”
The Guardian
