Discovering Menotti
22 September 2011, Poldrate Granary, Haddington (opposite St Mary’s Parish Church)
Talk – Derek Watson
Gian Carlo Menotti, who lived for many years at Yester House in East Lothian, was one of the late 20th Century’s most successful opera composers, but his non-operatic music is less well known. In this illustrated centenary lecture, writer and lecturer Derek Watson explores the breadth of Menotti’s talent in such pieces as the Violin Concerto.
