The site of Prestongrange’s museum has a fascinating industrial history going back to the16th Century including glass, pottery and brick manufacture as well as mining.

The impressive, high-roofed Power House is perfect for this exciting programme of music for brass. The Red Note Ensemble contrast sonorous pieces from the Renaissance with the amazing, spatial effects of contemporary composers such as Harvey and Birtwhistle.

The overwhelming, surround-sound beauty of Jonathan Harvey’s Ricercare played by trumpet virtuoso Mark O’Keefe makes a fitting climax to a very special event.
