The Coffee Concerts are back!

One of the world’s leading ensembles, the Gould Piano Trio has pursued a remarkable international career for more than 20 years. Each of their morning concerts includes one of Haydn’s endlessly imaginative, charming and sparkling piano trios.

The Goulds also offer great trios by a wide variety of composers and include the Scottish premiere of a work specially composed for them by one of the most talked-about young British composers, Mark Simpson. With cakes from master baker Falko Burkert, coffee and a daily festival news briefing from directors Hugh Macdonald and James Waters, these concerts are a perfect way to start your Lammermuir Festival day.

The Town House, Haddington

The Town House in Haddington was designed by William Adam in 1748, though little of his original work remains. A court room and assembly room were added in 1788 over the colonnade of Haddington Market.

The bell in the clock tower rings at 7am and then again at 10pm, suggesting waking and bed time and has done so to mark curfew since 1532.

Several Edinburgh to Haddington routes to the Market Street bus stop. Also Perryman’s 253 service from Edinburgh Bus Station – Berwick, stopping in Haddington. All drop off in the High St, approx. 5-8 mins walk from the church.

Getting there by train

Edinburgh to North Berwick service every hour. Nearest station is Drem. Taxi info on station notice board.

Getting there by car

Haddington is 20 miles East of Edinburgh along the A1 dual carriageway. Travelling East take the second exit to Haddington – The Town House is in the centre of the town on the High Street. You will be able to see the clock tower and spire from a distance.
