LA to Lammermuir - Lammermuir Festival

The press planning started way back before Christmas for the special Festival editions of classical music magazines appearing in the early spring, then we planned the launch and all that comes with that. The glossy magazine coverage I talked about earlier in the week happened weeks ago and looking back, it all seemed rather leisurely, relatively speaking, now Vicky Pitchers and I are in our fuel-injected final flurry of PR activity.

Something else which started some months ago from my desk in Largs, was a conversation with a fellow west-coaster, west coast of America, that is.  This resulted in one of the world’s biggest news websites, the Huffington Post (which has something like 35 million visitors a month)coming to write about us.  Yippee!

Their globe-trotting arts writer from Los Angeles, Laurence Vittes is on a European expedition, making his way to Scotland, via France, Germany, Slovenia and Poland and arrives in time for the “1000 Airplanes on The Roof” in the Concorde hangar.

Our visitor from L.A is not the only overseas media attending this year:  we have journalists from Russia, Australia and Spain too.  We’re thrilled to show off this beautiful – and statistically Scotland’s sunniest and driest – region as far afield as we can.
