Lamp of Lothian Trust - Lammermuir Festival

The Lamp of Lothian Trust has a 40 year record of programming music of the highest order.  The Lamp’s Concert Series was created by Elizabeth Duchess of Hamilton in partnership with Yehudi Menuhin to raise funds for the refurbishment of St Mary’s Church in Haddington.  The Lamp of Lothian Trust manages historic buildings for the benefit of the community and further details can be found at http://www.lampoflothian.org.uk/

St Mary’s church  now forms the core of the Lammermuir programme with four major performances by Stile Antico, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Dunedin Consort.  The original cupola of the church gace the title ‘Lamp of Lothian’ to the trust.   This beautiful building has a fabulous acoustic.

Also important is its proximity to the Waterside Bistro where the perfect pre or post concert pint can be downed in a wonderful setting
