Just a few miles from the site of the Battle of Prestonpans (21 Sept 1745) Robert Howarth leads a hand-picked ensemble of superb musicians and singers in a beautifully compiled programme that places traditional Jacobite songs alongside pieces by the Hanoverian Handel. Uneasy bedfellows to say the least, but a fascinating conclusion to our tribute to the great German master!

St. Andrew Blackadder, North Berwick

Designed by Sir Rowand Anderson (1883) and centrally situated in North Berwick's High Street, St Andrew's is a handsome gothic revival building which took its present name in 1989 when the congregation united with that of the former Blackadder Church.  In a restructuring completed in 2000, the church was divided horizontally at gallery level. This provided a new chapel and meeting rooms at ground level while the main church above has become a popular and versatile concert venue.
